Tartus launches 2026 summer tourism harvest festivities

The Tartus Governorate has launched the ‘2026 Tartus Summer Tourism Season Harvest’ festivities, an initiative organized in cooperation with official and community entities. The events, which aim to highlight the city’s heritage and aesthetic identity, are scheduled to continue until the end of September.

The program commenced with a cleaning campaign titled ‘Tartus Beautifies Itself Through Our Awareness’ along the seaside corniche, starting from the Old City. The campaign involved the Directorate of Youth Affairs, the Student Union, local community groups, and volunteers. A similar cleaning initiative is planned for Arwad Island.

Scheduled activities include a national rowing championship, a professional crafts exhibition, the opening of the Arwad spring, and activities by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. Cultural events will feature a University of Tartus exhibition, a civil defense march, and performances by the Agricultural Theater troupe and the Orthousa choir. The festivities will conclude on the Tartus corniche with a tourism marathon, an international motorcycle arrival, a traditional food exhibition, and boat shows.
