TAS and TURCK introduce new industrial management and edge data platforms

TAS is introducing a new device management platform for transmission equipment, scheduled for release next year. The platform aims to centralize the management, monitoring, and maintenance of installed systems through remote access. This allows for configuration changes, firmware updates, and maintenance tasks to be performed regardless of location, potentially reducing the need for on-site technician visits.

The platform also features advanced error detection by providing access to event logs, monitoring, and telemetry data. This enables operators to identify anomalies and address issues before equipment failure occurs, increasing the availability of security infrastructure.

In a related development in industrial connectivity, TURCK has introduced TAS Edge as part of its TURCK Automation Suite. This module is designed for the structured collection and processing of machine data, supporting Industry 4.0 and IIoT applications. TAS Edge can run on edge controllers, Windows, or Linux systems, facilitating data transfer between OT and IT systems via MQTT brokers or cloud services. It simplifies IO-Link device integration through a web-based interface and offers a low-code environment using Node-RED for complex requirements.
