Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak crashes in fiery F2 accident at Madrid track

Formula 2 driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak was involved in a heavy crash during the first practice session at the new Madrid circuit during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. While navigating Turn 19, a high-speed section of the track, the ART Grand Prix driver lost control of his car, striking the wall laterally. The impact caused the car to catch fire due to radiator oil, though Inthraphuvasak was able to escape the vehicle quickly without physical injury.

The incident triggered a red flag, causing a lengthy stoppage that limited track time for other drivers. The crash highlights the challenging nature of the new 5.414km layout, which drivers have previously described as one of the most difficult and risky on the calendar. Similar incidents occurred in Formula 3 practice, where driver Nicola Lacorte also crashed at Turn 9, further underscoring the technical difficulty of the circuit.
