Tasca dos Maricas opens in Paço de Arcos

Tasca dos Maricas, a new restaurant in Paço de Arcos, opened on August 12, 2026. Owned by Brazilian couple Leonardo Silva and Mayara Silva Neto, the establishment focuses on Portuguese snacks and traditional cuisine, moving away from the Brazilian-inspired menu previously offered at the location.

The project is a collaboration with Simão and Sarah Dutra Lima, founders of the Cabra Macho brand, who provided support in concept development, menu creation, and staff training. The restaurant features a large covered terrace near Jardim de Paço de Arcos and Praia Velha, with a capacity for approximately 60 people.

The name of the establishment is tied to the owners' evangelical faith and personal philosophy. A message at the entrance explains that the term ‘maricas’ is used to describe those who work hard and are not ashamed to cry before God. The owners, who previously worked as a painter and an aesthetician, describe the venture as a challenging transition into the hospitality industry.
