Taseco Land proposes 1.1 trillion VND heritage project at Long Bien Bridge

A consortium led by Taseco Land and Taseco Group has proposed a project to develop a cultural, service, commercial, and tourism space at the 131 railway bridge arches south of Long Bien Bridge in Hanoi. The project aims to revitalize 127 century-old bridge arches and the surrounding Phung Hung - Gam Cau street area, spanning from Cua Dong Street to Long Bien Station.

The initiative focuses on urban reconstruction, pedestrian space development, and the promotion of the night economy while preserving urban heritage. A key technical requirement involves reinforcing the bridge arch structures to ensure safety without reducing the operational capacity of the railway line. The scope also includes upgrading technical infrastructure, sidewalks, and public spaces.

The total estimated investment is over 1,137 billion VND, structured as a public-private partnership (PPP). This includes approximately 445 billion VND in state capital and 692 billion VND from investor capital. Construction is projected to begin in October 2026, with an estimated 21-month build period, aiming for completion and handover by June 30, 2028. The proposed business term is 30 years following completion.
