Tasikmalaya officials propose reducing 2026 budget deficit

In Tasikmalaya, officials are discussing amendments to the 2026 regional budget (APBD) to address a projected deficit. The local government team (TAPD) has proposed reducing the estimated deficit from Rp 180 billion to approximately Rp 27.4 billion by increasing local revenue and adjusting expenditure posts.

Proposed adjustments include reducing operational expenses, maintenance costs, and potentially delaying certain employee performance allowances (TPP) until January 2027. While the TAPD aims to balance the budget to zero, the Deputy Chairman of the Tasikmalaya DPRD, Hilman Wiranata, noted that the executive branch has yet to provide a complete and comprehensive solution scheme for the remaining deficit.
