Tasikmalaya police investigate alleged student bullying

Police and the Women and Children Protection Unit (UPTD PPA) of Tasikmalaya City are investigating an alleged bullying incident involving students from SMAN 3 Tasikmalaya. Authorities conducted a crime scene investigation at a local stall on Jalan Garuda, which is suspected to be the basecamp for the alleged perpetrators.

The incident reportedly involved six 12th-grade students who targeted three 10th-grade students. The motive was allegedly to provide a “lesson” to the juniors after they were reportedly seen using vapes in class. The victims sustained facial injuries, including bruising.

UPTD PPA Kota Tasikmalaya is providing assistance to the victims and is prepared to offer psychological support. Local child protection advocates have emphasized the need to address school seniority and the normalization of bullying to prevent further legal and psychological consequences.
