Task Season 2 expands cast with Tim Blake Nelson and Jharrel Jerome

The drama series *Task*, created by Brad Ingelsby and set in the working‑class suburbs outside Philadelphia, returns for a second season. Mark Ruffalo leads a new FBI task force that pursues a string of drug‑house robberies, while the cast is bolstered by several newcomers.

Tim Blake Nelson joins as Denny Coughlin, a career cop who plays by his own rules. Jharrel Jerome appears as Jordan Barnes, the son of Mahershala Ali’s character Eddie Barnes. Additional additions include Brian F. O'Byrne as retired DEA agent Charlie Boylan, Bethlehem Million as Lisa Barnes, Kevin Dunn as FBI agent Vince Runyan, and Andrew Russel reprising his role as Ethan Brandis. Returning stars such as Mahershala Ali, Julianne Nicholson, Harry Melling and others also continue.

Season 1 premiered on September 7 2025, ran seven episodes, earned positive reviews and six Primetime Emmy nominations. The new season is slated to continue the series’ blend of crime drama and character tension.
