Taskmaster joins Great Ormond Street Hospital for cancer centre fundraiser

The comedy series Taskmaster is partnering with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for a special live-streamed fundraising event to support the construction of a new Children’s Cancer Centre. The event, scheduled for Saturday, 5 September, will be broadcast globally via platforms including YouTube and Twitch.

Hosted by creator Alex Horne and comedian Jake Bhardwaj, the competition will feature a lineup of digital influencers and content creators, including TommyInnit, MatMat, Ayamé, and Hayley Morris. Participants will compete in teams of two to complete various tasks to raise funds for the state-of-the-art facility.

The proposed centre aims to provide specialist care, pioneering research, and cutting-edge facilities under one roof. It will also include outdoor spaces, such as a roof garden, to support the well-being of children undergoing treatment. Alex Horne noted that the show has often served as a “beacon of silliness” for families during difficult times and expressed a desire to engage the Taskmaster community to support the hospital’s mission.
