Tasmania dominates NSW in Sheffield Shield match

Tasmania has taken control of their Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive Oval after bowling New South Wales to 8-174 at stumps on day two. Tasmania holds a significant advantage following a first-innings total of 427.

Veteran bowler Jackson Bird, 39, led the attack in his first game back from injury this season, finishing the day with figures of 4-39. Bird dismantled the NSW top order, dismissing Sam Konstas for 5, Ollie Davies for 13, and captain Nic Maddinson for 2. Konstas, who is seeking a Test return, expressed visible frustration toward umpire Michael Graham-Smith after being given out caught behind.

NSW struggled to recover from an early collapse, with Kurtis Patterson also falling for 14. While Lachlan Shaw (45), Jack Scott (31), and Ryan Hicks (43) provided some resistance, Tasmania remains firmly in command of the contest.
