Tasmania JackJumpers open $20 million high‑performance centre as Taran Armstrong returns

The Tasmania JackJumpers and the WNBL’s Tasmania Jewels have opened the new JackJumpers and Jewels High Performance Training Centre at Kingston. The $20 million, purpose‑built complex features basketball courts, strength and conditioning spaces, recovery and treatment areas, team meeting rooms and integrated high‑performance amenities for both clubs. Coach Scott Roth described it as “the best facility in the country” and said it sets a new standard for Australian basketball. Jewels head coach Claudia Brassard echoed the sentiment, noting it gives the women's team a competitive edge ahead of their inaugural WNBL season.

At the same time, home‑grown guard Taran Armstrong, the second Tasmanian‑born player to sign with the JackJumpers, has re‑joined the squad after stints in the NBA and EuroLeague. Armstrong highlighted his loyalty to the club and praised the new facility, saying it will help him and the team strive for success in the upcoming NBL season.
