Tasmanian whisky producers announce expansion and new releases

Tasmanian whisky producers Sullivans Cove and Callington Mill are announcing significant developments in their product lines and market reach.

Sullivans Cove is expanding its international presence in Europe, the US, and Asia. Following its 2026 World Whiskies Awards win for its 18 Year Old French Oak ex-White Wine Cask, the distillery is utilizing mature stocks produced after a decade of investment to meet global demand. CEO Andy Gaunt noted that while the small-scale, single-cask model limits volume, the increased mature inventory allows for strategic international allocations.

Callington Mill has released the final expression in its limited-edition Heritage Series. The cask strength whisky, finished in rare Palo Cortado sherry casks, celebrates the distillery’s landmark heritage mill in Oatlands. The mill, originally built in 1837, is the only fully operational Lincolnshire-style tower mill in the Southern Hemisphere. The series concludes a tour of the Oatlands region and has already received a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
