Anastasios Bakasetas signs two-year deal with APOEL FC
Greek international midfielder Anastasios Bakasetas has officially signed a two-year contract with APOEL FC in Cyprus. The 33-year-old joins the Cypriot club following his departure from Panathinaikos.
Bakasetas, who has served as the captain of the Greece national team with 82 appearances and 19 goals, was not included in the plans of Panathinaikos coach Jakob Nielsen for the upcoming season. During his tenure with Panathinaikos, he made 100 appearances and scored 20 goals, contributing to the team winning the Greek Cup in 2024.
The veteran midfielder is well-known for his previous success in Turkey with Trabzonspor, where he played 122 matches, scoring 33 goals and providing 24 assists, playing a key role in their championship title. His move to APOEL marks a new chapter in his career after competing in the Greek and Turkish leagues.
