In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Douvikas discussed the team's successful start in Serie A and their recent European success. He credited manager Cesc Fàbregas for maintaining a consistent preparation philosophy, emphasizing that the coach demands courage, focus, and personality from the squad.

Despite the team's impressive momentum, Douvikas remains cautious regarding title ambitions or high European expectations. He noted that because Como is a relatively new arrival to this level of competition, it would be unwise to focus on major trophies prematurely, stating that such thoughts could cause unnecessary problems.
