Tasos Minis, Greek Air Force General and Former MP Remembered

Tasos Minis, a former Greek Air Force officer who rose to the rank of lieutenant general, was a prominent anti‑dictatorship figure during the Greek Civil War and the military junta. He survived multiple injuries, testified in the Air Force trial that helped expose the regime, and later served as a member of parliament for the democratic opposition. After democracy was restored, he was offered the presidency of the state telecom OTE by Prime Minister Konstantinos Mitsotakis, a role he accepted while maintaining a modest lifestyle. Minis is remembered for his integrity, bravery, and contributions to Greece’s return to democratic rule.
