Taste of Planet festival opens in Belgrade

The ‘Taste of Planet’ festival has launched its first edition in Belgrade at Kalemegdan Park, following its established history in Novi Sad since 2017. The three-day event, running from September 18 to 20, showcases various national cuisines, aromas, and dance traditions through the participation of different country embassies.

City Secretary for Culture Jelena Medaković officially opened the festival near the Baroque Gate. The inaugural day focused on the culinary heritages of Myanmar, Iran, and Indonesia. Highlights included Myanmar’s traditional mohinga noodle soup, the diverse spice-based recipes of Iran, and Indonesian cultural presentations featuring traditional dance, authentic coffee, and desserts such as lapis peras pelangi and semar mendem.
