TasteAtlas ranks Beyran soup from Turkey as second best in the world

The gastronomy platform TasteAtlas has released its rankings for the world’s best soups, based on over 33,000 evaluations. Paraguay’s traditional Vori-vori soup secured the top position with a score of 4.7.

Turkey featured prominently in the rankings with multiple entries. The Beyran soup from Gaziantep placed second globally with a score of 4.5. Other Turkish soups included lentil soup (Mercimek) at 12th place, tomato soup at 55th, and kelle paça at 69th.

The top ten list also includes Indonesia’s Soto Betawi in third place, followed by various Japanese ramen styles (Yokohama-style, general ramen, and Tonkotsu) in fourth, fifth, and sixth places. Other top-ten entries include Sinigang na baboy from the Philippines, Tom kha gai from Thailand, Lanzhou lamian from China, and Lohikeitto from Finland.
