TasteAtlas ranks Israeli kichel and Polish żymlok among worst-rated foods

A recent ranking by TasteAtlas, based on over 110,000 user votes, has identified certain traditional foods as the worst-rated globally and within specific countries.

In the global list of the ‘100 Worst Rated Desserts in the World’, Israeli kichel—a light, crunchy cookie made from flour, eggs, and sugar—was ranked first. Other low-rated global desserts include Minnesota’s Cookie Salad and Calabrian licorice ice cream.

Regarding Polish cuisine, the Silesian specialty żymlok (also known as bułczanka) was named the worst Polish dish in the TasteAtlas rankings. Żymlok is a traditional meat product made from pork meat, offal, blood, and soft wheat rolls. While it remains a staple in Silesian culinary tradition, its ingredients, particularly the use of blood and offal, often lead to low ratings from international tourists.
