TasteAtlas ranks top German desserts

The online portal TasteAtlas has released a ranking of the best German desserts based on user votes. The ranking aims to promote the visibility of distinguished local foods.

Grießbrei (semolina pudding) secured the first place, often served with vanilla, cinnamon, and fruit. The portal noted that while popular in Germany, the dish is also prepared in Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

Ofenschlupfer, a traditional bread pudding from Swabia made with stale bread and apples, took second place. Kirschenmichel, a South German bread pudding featuring sweet cherries, cinnamon, and cloves, was ranked third.
