Tata Motors launches Aeris compact sedan in India

Tata Motors has officially launched the Aeris, a new compact sedan in India designed to replace the Tigor. The vehicle is available in five trim levels: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and Accomplished. Introductory ex-showroom prices start at ₹5.29 lakh for petrol manual variants, while CNG manual models begin at ₹6.29 lakh.

The Aeris features a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing approximately 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. A CNG variant is also offered, producing roughly 76 PS and 97 Nm of torque. Both powertrains can be paired with a five-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). The CNG version utilizes twin-cylinder technology to maintain a usable 419-litre boot capacity.

Design updates include slimmer LED headlights with daytime running lights, a gloss-black grille, and revised LED taillights. The interior, inspired by the Tiago hatchback, features a light beige and white theme, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital instrument cluster. Safety features include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with integrated dashcam functionality on higher trims, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The sedan aims to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
