Tata Consultancy Services expands AI‑focused talent programme as shares edge higher
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said it is still reviewing its FY27 promotion schedule while preparing to relaunch its internal Wings career‑development programme with a stronger emphasis on artificial‑intelligence (AI) skills. The revamped programme will feature new AI‑centric assessments, partnerships with external education providers and a focus on building digital capabilities for technology roles.
In parallel, TCS shares rose about 0.6% in early trading after the company announced the launch of an AI Solutions Lab in partnership with NVIDIA. The market reaction follows the reporting of Q1 FY27 results, which showed a 13.9% year‑on‑year revenue increase to ₹72,275 crore and AI revenue of US$2.6 billion, as well as an interim dividend of ₹12 per share. Analysts noted the AI initiatives as a key driver of investor confidence.
The combined moves underscore TCS’s shift toward an AI‑first talent and service strategy, aiming to boost internal mobility, future‑ready skills and market positioning in the competitive Indian IT sector.
