Tata Daewoo Mobility begins nationwide sales of HIXEN truck

Tata Daewoo Mobility has launched nationwide sales for its HIXEN medium-duty truck, a vehicle specifically designed for urban transport and various specialized cargo needs. To support the rollout, the company is hosting a four-month exhibition at four of its direct maintenance centers in Gyeonggi, Gyeongin, Busan, and Chungnam.

The HIXEN features a compact chassis similar to a light-duty truck but maintains medium-duty loading performance. To improve maneuverability in narrow urban streets, the vehicle's cab width has been reduced by up to 115mm and its height by up to 325mm compared to existing medium-duty models. It also utilizes a newly developed 220mm frame designed for both strength and weight reduction.

In an effort to appeal to the logistics market, Tata Daewoo Mobility has priced the HIXEN approximately 15% to 20% lower than conventional medium-duty trucks. The model is designed to accommodate various configurations, including cargo trucks, dump trucks, and environmental vehicles, with a design that supports a maximum 15-ton axle load. Maintenance costs are also targeted for reduction through features such as a 100,000km fuel filter replacement cycle and an automatic hydraulic lash adjuster for engine valves.
