Tata Daewoo Mobility partners with Eonus for mobile ESS development

Tata Daewoo Mobility has signed a memorandum of understanding with Eonus, a specialist in mobile energy storage systems (ESS), to develop future energy mobility solutions. The partnership aims to transform electric commercial vehicles from simple logistics tools into mobile power supply platforms.

The collaboration will focus on developing a 220kWh mobile ESS prototype based on Tata Daewoo’s 2.5-ton electric truck, the GIXEN. This model will feature a four-wheel-drive system to meet the mobility and power requirements of military operational zones. Following military applications, the companies plan to expand into civilian sectors, developing 2.5-ton and 5-ton mobile ESS models for construction sites, industrial areas, and disaster relief zones.

Both companies are also exploring international expansion, targeting regions with high demand for power infrastructure, such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The joint project was recently showcased at the EV Trend Korea 2026 event.
