Tata Electronics expands India semiconductor ecosystem through multiple partnerships
Tata Electronics is rapidly expanding its semiconductor footprint in India through multiple strategic partnerships aimed at building a comprehensive domestic manufacturing ecosystem.
In a deal with Dutch chipmaker Nexperia, the companies will manufacture and package power control chips at Tata’s $11 billion facility under construction in Dholera, Gujarat. The collaboration also includes testing and assembly at Tata’s packaging facility in Jagiroad.
Additionally, Tata Electronics has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fujifilm Corporation to develop a semiconductor materials ecosystem. Fujifilm plans to invest approximately INR 800 Crores (roughly US$ 83 million) to establish a semiconductor materials plant in the Dholera Special Investment Region to support the upcoming fab.
Furthermore, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT) has partnered with Tata Electronics to advance indigenous chip manufacturing. This alliance combines LTSCT’s fabless design capabilities with Tata’s packaging and foundry services to serve sectors such as automotive, industrial, and communications.
