Tata Electronics exports approach Rs 1 trillion in FY26

Tata Electronics, India’s largest domestic iPhone contract manufacturer, reported export revenues of approximately Rs 991.28 billion for the 2025-26 financial year. This represents a 29 per cent increase from the previous year, driven largely by Apple’s strategy to expand manufacturing capabilities in India.

Key export destinations included Taiwan, the United States, and Ireland. Shipments to Taiwan reached Rs 479.30 billion, exports to the US rose nearly 40 per cent to Rs 385.08 billion, and shipments to Ireland totaled Rs 119.80 billion. The growth was supported by the group’s acquisitions of Wistron’s and Pegatron’s India operations.

Despite the surge in export revenue, the company reported widening losses. The loss increased from Rs 69 crore in FY25 to Rs 1,611 crore in FY26. This financial deficit is attributed to high foreign exchange outgo, totaling Rs 1.29 trillion, which indicates that iPhone manufacturing in India remains heavily reliant on imported components.
