Tata Motors launches Aeris compact sedan in India

Tata Motors has officially launched the Aeris, a compact sedan in India designed to replace the Tigor model. The vehicle is priced between 5.29 lakh and 9.74 lakh rupees, positioning it to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.

The Aeris features a refreshed exterior inspired by the Tiago hatchback, including slim LED headlamps, a gloss-black grille, and 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, and ventilated front seats.

Safety is a primary focus, with six airbags included as a standard feature across all variants. Additional safety and driver assistance technologies include a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill-hold control, and a built-in dashcam recorder. To demonstrate structural durability, Tata Motors conducted a test where 20 tons of debris were dropped on a CNG variant, which remained functional afterward.

Powertrain options include a 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine producing 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, as well as a CNG variant producing 74.5 to 76 bhp. Both engines are available with either a 5-speed manual or an automated manual transmission (AMT). Bookings are currently open, with deliveries scheduled to begin on October 11, 2026.
