Heavy monsoon rains caused severe flooding in Gujarat, temporarily disrupting Tata Motors' Sanand manufacturing facility. The plant, which produces passenger models including the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Sierra, and several supplier sites in the region were affected, leading to a pause in vehicle assembly.

Tata Motors said coordinated efforts are under way to restore operations at both its own plant and the affected suppliers, and it expects production to return to normal within a few days. The company has an insurance policy covering floods and other natural calamities and is assessing the financial impact of the disruption. Over 40,000 people were displaced across Gujarat as the rain triggered river overflows and blocked road and rail networks.
