Tataouine infrastructure: Medenine–Ras Jedir highway connection Lot 1 completed
The Tataouine regional commission met to monitor the progress of public infrastructure projects, including civil buildings, bridges, and roads. A primary focus of the meeting was the construction of the connection link between Tataouine and the Medenine–Ras Jedir A1 motorway. Works for Lot No. 1 of this connection are 100% complete and have undergone provisional acceptance, while Lot No. 2 has reached a 91% completion rate.
Other infrastructure updates include the completion of one of four surface coating projects for classified roads and the completion of three out of seven projects under the integrated development program. The commission also reviewed studies for 19 various national and regional projects, such as a proposed bypass road around the city of Tataouine. Additionally, discussions addressed rural track reinforcement and repairs to infrastructure damaged by flooding.
