Tatarstan leader offers condolences after drone attack kills Uzbek and Tajik citizens

Rustam Minnikhanov, the leader of Tatarstan, has expressed condolences to the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan following a drone attack in Nizhnekamsk. The incident resulted in the deaths of 13 people, including one child, and left over 70 others seeking medical assistance, with 21 hospitalized.

The casualties include eight citizens from Uzbekistan and one from Tajikistan. In response to the tragedy, a government commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov has been established to provide aid to the victims and their families, as well as to coordinate the repatriation of the deceased Uzbek citizens via special flights.

An investigation has been launched under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code. August 10 has been declared a day of mourning in Tatarstan.
