Tate McRae debuts new single ‘Housewife’ at number one on Spotify
Canadian pop artist Tate McRae has released her new single ‘Housewife’ via RCA Records. The track, which explores themes of female independence, fame, and the complexities of modern relationships, debuted at number one on both the US and Global Spotify streaming charts, garnering over 5.67 million worldwide streams on its first day.
Accompanying the single is a cinematic music video directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, filmed in the South of France. The video features high-fashion elements, including archival Versace pieces and outfits from Ludovic de Saint Sernin, with choreography by Sergio Reis. The visual narrative is described as a glamorous illusion that touches on the sacrifices required to maintain personal freedom.
McRae is also scheduled to perform the song live for the first time at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles. This release follows the success of her third studio album, ‘So Close To What’, which reached number one on the Billboard 200.
