Tati Purwanti brings Cirebon porridge business to Taipei
Tati Purwanti, a former Indonesian migrant worker from Indramayu, has successfully established a food business in Taipei. After working in Taiwan for over two decades to support her family, Purwanti married a Taiwanese citizen in 2013.
In 2016, she returned to Indonesia to launch a bubble tea business inspired by trends she observed in Taiwan. The venture grew to five branches and employed approximately 35 people. However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 significantly impacted her business operations.
Following the economic challenges of the pandemic, Purwanti returned to Taipei in 2020 to seek new opportunities. She is now leveraging her entrepreneurial experience from Indonesia to run a business selling Cirebon porridge in Taipei.
