ARD changes release schedule for ‘Tatort’ crime series

The German broadcaster ARD has announced a change to the release schedule for its popular crime series, ‘Tatort’ and ‘Polizeiruf 110’. New episodes will now be available exclusively in the ARD Mediathek on Fridays, ahead of their traditional Sunday evening broadcast on linear television.

The new season begins on September 13 with the episode ‘König in Gelb’, featuring Maria Furtwängler as Charlotte Lindholm. Other upcoming episodes include a case in Saarbrücken titled ‘Das Ende der Nacht’, involving an investigation into an armored car robbery with potential links to France, and a new duo appearing in Munich.

Additionally, the series marks a significant transition for the Vienna-based ‘Tatort’ team. Longtime actors Adele Neuhauser and Harald Krassnitzer, playing Bibi Fellner and Moritz Eisner, are scheduled to depart the series at the end of 2026.
