Tatort: König in Gelb reaches 7.41 million viewers

The German crime series ‘Tatort: König in Gelb’, starring Maria Furtwängler, achieved significant viewership success upon its return from summer break. The episode reached an average of 7.41 million viewers on ARD, securing a 30.7 percent market share. It also performed well among the 14-to-49 age demographic, capturing 18.1 percent of the market with 0.85 million viewers.

Set in a village for dementia patients, the episode follows investigator Charlotte Lindholm as she examines the death of a resident and allegations made by a former investigator. The production was directed and written by Alexander Adolph.

In comparison, private broadcasters struggled during primetime. ZDF’s ‘Bloß nicht Liebe’ reached 3.12 million viewers, while VOX led the private sector in the younger demographic with ‘Grill den Henssler Sommer-Special’. ProSieben’s premiere of ‘Kraven the Hunter’ drew 1.04 million viewers.
