Tatort's veteran Vienna detectives Eisner and Fellner set to leave, new duo to debut in 2027

The German‑Austrian crime series Tatort aired the episode “Azra” on 12 July 2023 on Das Erste. In the story, informant Azra works for the police against the Datviani clan; the boss’s brother is murdered, the BKA takes over, and Azra disappears after a failed police action.

The episode also marks the final appearance of the long‑running Vienna detective pair Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) and Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser). Their last joint case, titled “Dann sind wir Helden”, will be broadcast at the end of the year and will be their 40th collaboration.

The series has announced that from 2027 the Vienna Tatort will be led by a new half‑sibling team: Miriam Fussenegger as Charlotte “Charlie” Hahn, head of a BKA special unit, and Laurence Rupp as Alex Maleky. Both actors are established in Austrian television and film, and their characters will bring a fresh dynamic to the long‑running franchise.
