Tatsuki Fujimoto teases new manga projects following Chainsaw Man conclusion
Following the conclusion of the Chainsaw Man manga, creator Tatsuki Fujimoto has shared insights regarding his future creative directions. In discussions surrounding the live-action adaptation of Look Back, Fujimoto revealed plans for a new concept that aims to explore a “positive view on death.”
One previously discussed premise involves a story that begins as a romantic comedy involving multiple protagonists but shifts into supernatural horror. In this concept, the characters who are not chosen for relationships would return as malevolent spirits to haunt the one who found love. While Fujimoto has explored themes of death in works such as Goodbye, Eri and Fire Punch, this new project is intended to approach the subject through a different lens.
Regarding existing properties, MAPPA is currently developing a second season of the Chainsaw Man anime. While an official release date has not been confirmed, reports suggest a potential 2027 debut, which is expected to adapt the Assassin Corps Arc.
