Tatvan hosts seminar on bims production standards and quality
A regional seminar focused on standards and quality in the bims (pumice aggregate) production sector was held in the Tatvan district of Bitlis. The event was organized by the Tatvan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TATSO) in collaboration with the Bitlis Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Bitlis Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, and the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) Eastern Anatolia Regional Directorate.
Participants received detailed information regarding production standards, quality criteria, and relevant legislation. TSE Eastern Anatolia Regional Coordinator İbrahim Seyhan provided presentations on conformity assessment processes and technical requirements, while experts from the Bitlis Provincial Directorate addressed environmental and construction standards affecting production facilities.
TATSO President Bilal Adabağ emphasized the economic importance of pumice, the primary raw material for bims, noting that adhering to quality standards and production processes is a vital investment for the sector's future.
