Tau Robotics launches humanoid robot cleaning service in San Francisco

The startup Tau Robotics has launched a service in San Francisco, United States, offering humanoid robots for residential cleaning at a rate of $30 per hour. These robots are equipped with artificial intelligence, cameras, and depth perception sensors to perform tasks such as vacuuming, collecting trash, and cleaning bathrooms or counters.

Currently, the robots are not fully autonomous; they are operated remotely by humans to manage movement and tasks. While the company acknowledges that the movement is currently slower than human cleaning, the service has already been utilized in over 50 homes and currently maintains a waiting list. Tau Robotics aims to eventually develop fully autonomous robots and expand their utility to include home maintenance and repairs.
