Taubaté residents report muddy water in multiple neighborhoods

Residents in several neighborhoods of Taubaté reported receiving water with a dark, muddy appearance on Sunday. Images shared by locals show the liquid having yellowish and brown hues.

While it is not yet confirmed if the issue affects the entire city, the problem follows previous complaints regarding the color, taste, odor, and presence of impurities in the water supply. The Taubaté City Council has previously held public hearings on the matter.

Sabesp has not yet issued an official statement explaining this specific occurrence. In past discussions, company representatives noted that changes in water color can occur due to network depressurization during supply resumption, maintenance, pipe bursts, power outages, or reservoir procedures.
