Taucha unveils educational bus stop displays in Dewitz
In the Dewitz district of Taucha, Germany, the Wachbergsiedlung bus stop now features three large graphic panels that present facts about the local history and environment. The initiative, called “Wissen statt Warten” (Knowledge Instead of Waiting), is the first fully realised site of a city‑wide project aiming to turn waiting time into an educational experience while improving the visual appearance of the stop and protecting it from vandalism with a special anti‑graffiti film.
The content was prepared by the local heritage association and the Parthenaue purpose association, designed by Valentina Schuster of the Delitzscher Land e.V., and installed by the company NIEOWA from Köthen. Municipal staff members Lilly Mühlbach, Stefanie Wendt and Franziska Müller coordinated the project, which was funded with roughly €16,000 from the regional budget, allowing applications for five additional stations slated for July in nearby neighborhoods.
