Taulé residents report disappearance of 11 cats in three months

In the commune of Taulé, located in the Finistère department of Brittany, eleven cats have disappeared over a three-month period between April and July. The disappearances have particularly affected one neighborhood, where five households have reported missing pets.

Local residents have filed complaints with the gendarmerie, but authorities currently have no leads or evidence, such as witnesses or camera footage, to explain the vanishings. Owners have expressed deep distress, noting that despite the animals being microchipped, no contact has been made by veterinarians regarding illness or death.

This phenomenon is not unprecedented in the area; thirteen years ago, twenty-two cats disappeared from the same town. Experts note that such clusters of animal disappearances occur periodically in various locations before ceasing once they receive public attention.
