Taurianova officials complete school infrastructure repairs
In Taurianova, local administration officials have completed summer maintenance work on school buildings in the Amato and San Martino districts to ensure student safety for the upcoming school year. Following inspections by Mayor Domenico Romeo and Education Councilor Anna Raso, repairs were conducted on primary and nursery school facilities to address issues such as peeling plaster, mold in gymnasiums, and dark stains on classroom walls.
The intervention included removing mold, repainting walls, and sanitizing spaces. Additionally, a water tank is being installed to prevent future lesson suspensions caused by water shortages. Councilor Raso emphasized that “the safety of our children comes before everything else.”
In the broader context of the region, including Molise, the return to school is marked by challenges such as rising costs for books and materials, a decreasing number of students, and a high prevalence of precarious teaching staff.
