Tauron announces multi-billion PLN energy transformation strategy

Tauron has unveiled a large-scale transformation plan aimed at balancing massive infrastructure investments with shareholder value. During the Energy Days in Katowice, the group detailed plans for new power capacities, energy storage, and grid modernization. In four key locations, the investment potential is estimated at approximately 3.7 GW and 16.5 billion PLN. Additionally, the company plans to invest 60 billion PLN in distribution networks by 2035.

Grzegorz Lot, President of Tauron Polska Energia, emphasized that the strategy is built on commercial principles designed to generate lasting economic value, including dividends for shareholders. The transformation will involve economic, technological, and financial assessments to ensure projects are safe for the system, beneficial for the region, and profitable for the company. Part of the strategy includes the ring-fencing of certain conventional assets to provide certainty to investors.

Separately, the 'Business with Climate' conference is scheduled for October 27, 2026, in Warsaw. Organized by the National Energy Conservation Agency S.A., the event will focus on energy efficiency as a condition for a zero-emission economy. Discussions will cover energy transformation costs, investment financing, regulatory changes, and the impact of the EPBD directive and the ETS2 system on energy costs.
