Tauron Dystrybucja to add 53 high‑power EV charging power points in Poland

Tauron Dystrybucja, Poland's electricity distribution operator, will create 53 new power supply points for high‑power electric‑vehicle charging stations, supporting heavy‑duty transport. The projects, spread across five voivodeships (Silesian, Opole, Lower Silesia, Lesser Poland and Subcarpathian), aim to provide a total connection capacity of 177 MW by the end of 2029.

Funding of over 384 million złoty comes from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, supplemented by EU emissions‑trading revenue under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). Leszek Kosiorek, president of Tauron Dystrybucja, said the investments prepare Poland for future transport electrification and will enable rapid charging along main transport corridors and logistic hubs.
