TAURON signs 900 million PLN refinancing agreement with PKO Bank Polski
TAURON Polska Energia has signed a 900 million PLN credit agreement with PKO Bank Polski to refinance a consortium loan originally granted in 2024 by PKO Bank Polski and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Europe) S.A.
The new financing is structured over a five-year repayment period. The primary objectives of the agreement are to improve TAURON’s financing structure by extending the loan maturity and reducing servicing costs.
In a move linked to sustainability, the interest rate is partially tied to the Group’s achievement of specific sustainable development goals, including reducing emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy sources in its production structure. These indicators will be verified by an independent auditor.
Krzysztof Zawadzki, Vice President of TAURON Polska Energia for Finance and Trade, stated that the company is combining financial engineering with transformation requirements to manage financing and create space for key investments. The funds are intended to support the Group’s investment program, energy transformation, renewable energy development, and distribution network modernization.
