Turkish cities speed up road resurfacing projects

Municipal authorities across Turkey have intensified road resurfacing and related infrastructure works as the summer season begins. Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality reported completing 40 km of hot‑asphalt laying and 60 km of surface coating at 47 sites, with ongoing work on major arteries such as Turgut Özal Boulevard. Kırıkkale Municipality continued weekend hot‑asphalt operations on three streets in Yuva Mahallesi, following the installation of 2,700 m² of pedestrian paving and 3,500 m of curbs. In Yüksekova, Van Province, the Cengiz Topel Avenue resurfacing by YNS Beton under the Van Highways 11th Regional Directorate is nearing completion, with local merchants praising the improvements. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality’s project in Tavas district upgraded several main streets—including Hükümet, Recep Yazıcıoğlu, Karakol, Muğla and Vatan avenues—adding new sidewalks, lighting and over 4 km of hot‑asphalt. Karatay District of Konya (Karatay Municipality) is renewing Kanal Caddesi with phased hot‑asphalt and milling works over a total of about 1.5 km. In Ankara’s Tepebaşı district, five neighborhoods are receiving new sidewalks and targeted asphalt repairs, with demolition and renewal beginning on Merkez Yeni Mahallesi’s 1st Street. These coordinated efforts aim to improve traffic safety, comfort and durability of local road networks throughout the country.
