Tavi Tornado transitions from Northern California activist to comedian

Tavi Tornado, a Cambodian American activist who rose to prominence during the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement in Northern California, has transitioned into a career as a stand-up comedian and comedy co-producer at OK Good Comedy.

During the racial reckoning of 2020, Tornado became a notable figure in local protests, speaking on issues ranging from the Cambodian genocide to the failures of American multiculturalism. Following a period of personal challenges, including a legal battle with an abuser during the pandemic, Tornado has shifted her focus toward humor as a coping mechanism for the absurdities of modern life.
