Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo AMP opens marine rescue center

The Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area (AMP) has inaugurated a new first aid center dedicated to marine fauna in difficulty. Located in Porto Taverna, within the municipality of Loiri Porto San Paolo, the center will provide emergency assistance and medical care to marine animals while also serving as a hub for environmental education and awareness for the local community and visitors.

In conjunction with these operational developments, the management consortium of the protected area has renewed its leadership. Massimo Canu has been re-elected unanimously as president for a second term. The new governing body emphasizes collaboration between the municipalities of Olbia, San Teodoro, and Loiri Porto San Paolo. The administration aims to balance marine conservation with regional development, working alongside local institutions and economic operators to protect the Mediterranean ecosystem.
