Tax authorities in Argentina and Uruguay announce payment updates
Tax authorities in Argentina and Uruguay have announced updates regarding property tax payments and billing methods.
In Entre Ríos, Argentina, the Administradora Tributaria de Entre Ríos (ATER) has released the tax deadlines for October 2026. The fifth installment of the Urban Real Estate Tax and the third installment of the Rural and Subrural Real Estate Tax are due on October 15 for check digits 0 to 4, and October 16 for digits 5 to 9. Other obligations due this month include Gross Income Tax, Stamp Tax, and various withholding regimes. ATER utilizes digital billing, and payments can be made via QR codes, electronic transfers, or in person.
In Montevideo, Uruguay, the Intendencia has announced that starting in January 2027, taxpayers can voluntarily opt to pay the property contribution in 12 monthly installments. Currently, payments are made in full or in three installments. The enrollment period for this new modality runs from October 1 to December 15. Additionally, the city will transition away from paper billing, moving to digital delivery via email or WhatsApp to improve efficiency and environmental sustainability. Residents requiring paper copies can request them at communal centers or collection networks.
