Taxi driver murdered in Guayaquil, Ecuador, after vehicle tracked to Durán

On the night of 22 July, 44‑year‑old taxi driver Germán Adolfo Burnham Tello left his home in southern Guayaquil for his early‑morning shift and never returned. His family, fearing the worst, initiated a search that included contacting hospitals and the police.

Using a satellite‑tracking system, relatives located his vehicle in a vacant lot in the Fincas Delia area of Durán. The car could not be moved, but investigators eventually recovered Burnham’s body, which had been taken to the Laboratorio de Criminalística, where it was positively identified. His family, who say he had no known enemies, are calling for a thorough police investigation and justice for the slain driver.
