Voula traffic accident: Motorcyclist declared brain dead

A 39-year-old motorcyclist has been declared brain dead following a severe collision with a taxi in Voula, Greece. The accident occurred on Poseidonos Avenue when the taxi driver attempted a left turn, striking the motorcyclist. The victim had been receiving intensive care at KAT Hospital after being transported to Asklepieio Voulas in critical condition. His family has reportedly decided to proceed with organ donation.

The 32-year-old taxi driver has been charged with dangerous driving and causing bodily harm through negligence. During his interrogation, the driver denied the charge of dangerous driving, claiming he was misled by a GPS navigation app that abruptly changed his route, causing him to miss a sign prohibiting turns at that location. He also stated he had used his turn signal and checked his mirrors before the maneuver.

Following his appearance before an investigator and prosecutor, the driver was released under restrictive conditions. He is required to report to his local police station once a month, and his driver's license has been indefinitely revoked pending the final outcome of the case.
